MISSION

Our mission is to determine valid social justice issues and to motivate and instigate a parish response to those issues. We aim to be a catalyst and coordinator to raise awareness and promote social change accompanied by acts of charity.

GOALS

  •  Convey to parish that it is a duty of every Catholic to be concerned about social justice. (Education)

  •  Involve and encourage every member of the parish to participate, in some way, in a charity or justice driven ministry. (Education, Advocacy, Projects, Prayer)

  • Promote the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops Policy Statements and other appropriate statements on social justice (Legislative Advocacy)

  • Take a more active role in lobbying state, local, and national representatives on issues related to social justice, particularly those related to issues covered by the USCCB and the archdiocese

  • Provide specific projects incorporating social justice and charity for parish-wide participation. (Projects)

  •  Encourage and facilitate the self-study of committee members in social justice. (Prayers)
