SEMINAR
"Practicing
Catholic Tradition: Spirituality, Ethics, & Morality"
BRUCE MORRILL, S.
J. , Assistant Professor, Boston College.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27 2001

Fr. Bruce gave a
presentation of moral and ethical issues treated in Pope John Paul II's
“Evangelium Vitae” and the U.S. Bishops' "Economic Justice for All." He
emphasized the comprehensive relationship of these ethical and moral issues to
the Church's liturgical practice of the faith. Topics discussed included such
areas as life-cycle issues, sexual ethics, and Catholic social-economic
teaching.
Fr. Bruce's emphasis
was on integrating principles of the church's liturgical and theological
traditions with its current moral doctrine.
Fr. Bruce was in
residence at IHM while working on his doctorate at
Emory University where he received his Ph.D. in
Religion (Theological Studies) in 1996.. During that time he worked in many of
the Archdiocesan parishes either giving adult education courses, seminars or
presiding at Mass. Since then he has been on the faculty of Boston College and
has published three books and numerous articles.
